Feedback – trip to Isaan 2014

The Brisbane team of Hope Behind Bars has just returned from Thailand after a special 2 weeks away.

Many of you have been most generous in your financial giving towards the needs of the prisoners and the opportunities presented to you to assist us in very practical ways . On behalf of the Hope Behind Bars team, we thank you.

We visited 8 prisons in total, one being brand new (Nambua Lamphu) on our route in Isaan province. We experienced some disappointments but more surprises and God went before us in every way. Prison visits included many new believers being added to the church. During our last prison visit the entire group of men and women accepted Christ. We had the privilege of baptising 67 inmates,  enjoyed fellowship with 570 behind bars and encouraged interested pen friends to join our growing group of pen friends spanning 3 continents.

The Gideons provided us with many Bibles in Thai/English which we were able to hand out everywhere we went. Old friendships were strengthened and new ones formed . We also connected with local pastors and helped to establish new leadership roles in prison churches. There were opportunities to pray for the sick and explore future development possibilities for released prisoners. In 2 prisons we had the pleasure of sharing communion with our brothers and sisters in faith and bring gifts of guitars to newly formed worship groups.

Our lives were enriched and blessed beyond expectation. God is growing His kingdom and we had the privilege to see Him at work.

Thank you for your prayer support during our time away, all praise to God for what He has done.

On behalf of the team
Blessings to you all
